Takeover of roof box manufacturer Kamei by Übler – traditional company saved

KAMEI GmbH und Co KG is a company specializing in the production of roof boxes. KAMEI has been involved in the development and manufacture of car accessories since 1952. Above all, the predecessor of the roof box and today’s fixed roof boxes led to the fame of the traditional KAMEI brand.

In August 2023, KAMEI GmbH und Co KG filed for insolvency. Justus von Buchwaldt from the restructuring law firm BBL was appointed as insolvency administrator. KAMEI will be taken over by the two managing directors of Forchheimer Uebler GmbH with effect from April 1, 2024 as part of a transferring restructuring. Due to an agreed major order from VW AG, business operations can be continued without restriction and the current 23 employees can continue to be employed.
